Apologies if I am breaking guidelines by posting as a newby. I am in search of a c150 to start from scratch in, I have roughly 15 hrs. Cheap and reliable is what I am looking for, hopefully no more than $20k is what I am looking to spend. I will be using it to build my hours and work my way towards my end goal of becoming a commercial pilot.
Thank you to everyone in advance, I look forward to helpful advice. I have heard many great things about this community!
(PS I am located in Dallas TX near Addison airport)
I just want to fly.

I would certainly think you should be able to find a basic C150 trainer within your price range. It sounds like you only want to hold onto it for a few hundred hours at most. The best advice I can give is to get a prebuy inspection. Also, make sure the useful load of the prospective plane you are considering will support you, a flight instructor, and fuel. We have members all over the country that would probably be willing to look over a prospect for you that is not local. In the meantime, best of luck finding your plane. As you can imagine, the members in this club are pretty partial to the aircraft model you are looking for.

We have members all over the country, so if you find a 150/152 you like but it's far away, let us know - chances are there's a local member that can look at the plane for you. I had several club members very graciously help me out that way.

There’s a 150 listed for sale on the type FB page. It’s asking a bit more than what you’re looking at. Seems to have good compression numbers and a more modern panel than many old 150s. I think it just listed. Good luck,

Your budget is towards the low end for a good 150 that is ADS-B compliant, but there are some out there. Good luck with your search! | | | | Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 19,134 Likes: 2324 Member/15,000 posts | Member/15,000 posts Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 19,134 Likes: 2324 | Welcome Zach!
Good Luck with your search. I'll double check with the AP here at KUUU - I think he mentioned one of the 150's on the field here might be about to come on the market. | | | | Joined: Jan 2020 Posts: 5 Member | Member Joined: Jan 2020 Posts: 5 | Hi Zachary,
C150/152 is one of the best trainer there is in my opinion, but the reliable and upgraded ones cost a bit more than your budget.
I have had my C150M since 2017 and have logged about 200 hours while training and travelling short distances. This reliable plane was also used to get my private license. I do not have my plane for sale but can give you some information as what to look for, and what to avoid if you email me privately. Good luck to you with your goals in any case.
