Hi Ron -

I'm pretty sure they were kids small. I think I may still have the remnants, if so I'll check.

I made these in conjunction with my $9 sleeping bag engine cover. The hardest part was learning how to use the dang sewing machine (threading the bobbin?!?!?!?). Once I figured that out, this took literally less than 5 minutes. I just reversed the pants and slid a leg over the prop with the elastic at the spinner. I pulled them taut so that the one of the existing pant leg seams was on a prop edge. I then just traced the outline of the tip and the other prop edge back to the spinner. Took them home, ran a quick hem alone my tracing, and cut off the excess. Turn them right side out and they're ready to go. That's all there is to it.

They are obviously not fancy and don't provide a huge amount of insulation, but I think they do a good job of reducing heat loss through the prop.

I'm building time so I enjoy finding DIY solutions like this... a totally functional alternative and the money I saved went right to avgas. grin
