Anybody happen to know where I might find a cowling air intake scoop for a 150? I think it's part number 0450266-1.

I know that they are usually absurdly expensive. Hoping to find a reasonably priced one - my mechanic wants to install it on the carb heat intake to see if it helps my weak carb heat situation.

Thanks.

Jim

I think you're talking about the baffle that blocks air around the air filter. I do know that it was originally installed only on some models of 150 but not all. Mine is a G model and it wasn't one of them, so I doubt it would fit if I got one.

They sure seem to be a prime candidate for a 3D printer!

Hi Jim,

As Roy said, not all 150's had them. Be sure yours is one that is suppose to.

I think Mike Brennan bought a replacement for not too much $$ from a place in Canada.
I'm sure he will fill us in on where and how much when he sees this thread.

I found Mike's post when he got it. CLICK HERE

Hey guys-

I’m on my phone tonight and can’t easily post pics, but I’m afraid that I didn’t adequately describe what I’m looking for. I’m seeking one of the half-soda can looking scoops that are on the cabin heat intake on the 150.

My mechanic went over my entire fuel system and everything is working fine. He thinks that my issues that we discussed in the Tech thread are indeed carb ice compounded by weak carb heat. The carb heat system and box all looked ok, so he wants try putting a scoop on the carb heat intake too and thinks that the extra air flow over the manifold will boost the heat performance.

Anybody seen this done before?

Jim
