Well I made an offer on a 1979 C152 IFR equipped and certified. Any issues I should be aware of? Anything special I should ask my AME to look for in the prepurchase inspection? Oh and what would you think this plane is worth? I'll tell you what I offered afterwards.



Highlights: 591 SMOH, 110HP, IFR Equipped, Digital Nav Com, Glideslope, ADF, GPS, Mode C, Intercom, Very Low Time & Well Maintained Plane.


Airframe: 5084 Hours Total Time
Engine: SMOH: 591 Hours,
Lycoming 0-235-L2C, 110 HP
TBO: 2400 Hours


Propeller: McCauley 2 Bladed
Overhauled 2003


Avionics: Full IFR & Certified,
C-300 Audio Panel,
C-300 Digital Nav-Com with Glideslope,
C-300 ADF,
C-300 Transponder with Mode C Encoder,
II Morrow Flybuddy GPS,
2 Place Sigtronics Intercom System,
Emergency Locator Transmitter.


Equipment: Pitot De-Ice, Alternate Static, PTT Switch, Hobbs Meter, 26us Gallon Fuel.


Interior: 2 Blue Cloth & Vinyl Seats, Very Well Kept,
Seats are Like New. Carpets Need Replacing.
Rating: 6/10


Exterior: White with Blue Trim, Very Nice Condition,
Rating: 7+/10

Go to the "Hangar" section and use the "Search FAA Airworthiness Directives (ADs)" to print a list of ADs for that model and equipment. That will help your mechanic if he's not real familiar with 152s.

LoL well I have my own personal opinion which is that I shouldn't be paying extra money for a bunch of out dated avionics that I probably wont use. i.e. ADF etc. However, I'm none the less doing just that. I offered 32000.00 US they were asking $37000 US.

For some unknown reason planes seem to sell for a bit more up here in Canada. Not sure why but I figure even at 32000 thats going to be more than most would pay in the US for an IFR certified 152 with low time. But it was about the best deal that I've seen in the 9 months that I have been looking.

Sure I've seen much cheaper but they were close to TBO or had 15000 TT on them.
