New to Club: good day!
Where does one go in USA for best new engine deals....? Lycoming? Wentworth?
Or any reasonable overhaul-shops where I could buy an overhauled unit [or 2] without a replacement core?
Thanks for your thoughts.
Cheers, DUAL.

Welcome to the club, Dual!

What is your project?

My Continental engine was overhauled at an engine shop: Brown Aviation in Tulsa, OK back in 2014. 918-835-6860

It still runs 400 hours later smile

Otherwise, I don't have anything...

Where are you located? Do you have a Cessna 152 you're working on? Why do you consider buying two engines?

Thanks for your info Geoff.
I have acquired some C-152's. I have now purchased some time-ex engines to power them, but down here, not USA where I was searching earlier. Learning quickly....!!
I am based in New Zealand, sort of South West from KLAX, a bunch of miles.....!

Welcome Dual,

I think the only place to purchase an engine outright, with no core, would be from the manufacturer
or an authorized dealer of the manufacturer.
I don't think many engines are sent to overhaul shops and abandoned but sometimes it does happen. Right Kirk? wink
Wentworth is good for finding "as removed" engines.
If I were looking for a replacement I would try AirPower Inc. [airpowerinc.com]

Just my opinion.

Not from Wentworth. They have a reputation of selling engines with difficulties. Eventually, they will make it right. However, you don't want to go through the hassle and the extra expense, especially from New Zealand.

Wade & Kendel, Thanks for that.
I have found a source of 0-235 engines down here with an engine shop going out of business.
What is the spec on your prop Wade, if still available please?
Cheers, DUAL.

For what's it worth, putting a wanted ad on Barnstormers is a good place to start. 100 word ad on Barnstormers is free. That's how I ended up with my current plane. There's lots pieces sitting in garages and hangars.

In fact I've got a O-235C1 core sitting the garage now.
