Does anyone have a bead on a decent IFR 150/152 under 40,000? I’m striking out. You’d think at that budget it would be easy, but man has it been tough going.

$40k should get you into a 150/152 Sparrowhawk..they are as fast as a 172..

Hi Zippy.

They are out there, and some have recently sold that were listed on the forum. There may be a variation in the definition of "decent." One thing you may want to consider (and I'm not sure why you settled on a 150/152) is maybe looking at 172's also. I think there are more 172's equipped for instrument flight, so you options may be better. They are a little more expensive, though.

Good luck in your search!

Found one, bought it, and with help of friend/instructor, flew her home this past weekend. I'll try and post a pic soon. Had a couple minor issue on the way home, but nothing that kept us from continuing. Looking forward to talking 150 with you all very soon.

Welcome Steve! Good news on your new bird! Well done.

here is one way to post some pictures here ---

DJ Vegh thank you buddy (I reverse engineered one of your picture posts here) --
1. made an imgur account. https://imgur.com/
2. drag and dropped my plane image off my computer to my imgur account. (easy)
3. selected that image on the imgur site.
4. There is a BBCode save button on the right that saves the image in the proper form to your clip board on your computer.
5. go back to our form site and past that in the full reply screen where you want the image.

Congratulations, Steve! I would also like to see pictures when you have time. If you post them here on the site like I do, you are pretty limited regarding how big the file can be. But it works great, if you don't have some kind of internet photo site account.

Our 150 is "supposedly" a 1968 model (although it was actually built in 1967)and is a 150H.

Excellent to hear Steve, glad you were able to find a 150 that fit both your mission and your budget.

Congratulations, and welcome to the club!
