Is anyone in the Indy area willing and able to deliver Grant from the big airport in Indianapolis to the little one in Anderson on Monday, May 21st? It’s the one piece to the ferry that isn’t in place yet. Gas/100LL/time reimbursed, of course!

If nobody in the club can do it, maybe you can ask the seller to transport Grant either by plane or by car.

Good idea, Hung. Or Uber. Looks like $60 Uber ride. Not bad.

I finally got to see my airplane last night. It arrived at the paved & lighted county airport at about 2045, thanks to a few people who were immensely kind, generous, and extremely helpful. Lots of great advice, input, and suggestions from so many members here, and plenty of direct assistance.

Bob Kaeser used up a fair amount of his personal time, flew up to Anderson in his airplane, burned his own fuel, gave my airplane a very thorough look over including a compression check, and would not accept more than a promise to buy him a beer in Clinton some day. Bob, what you did for us is simply wonderful, and I'm so thankful. So, thank you once again.

Grant Garvey offered to ferry 96Kilo home for us and we took him up on it. Once again, a member gave up personal time to do me a HUGE favor. Grant flew out to Indy on Monday, May 21st, made his way up to Anderson and picked up our airplane. He logged about 7 hrs of flight time and delivered our little bird in one long day of flying. Grant, it was truly great to meet you, and even greater what you did for Sharon and I. I can't say thanks enough times. We're looking forward to having you come visit and do some flying, hiking, canoeing, etc. as soon as you get the chance.

Pete Burns offered to fly Grant to Burlington, VT so that Grant could get home on the 22nd. Unfortunately, the weather is a complete 180 from yesterday's warm, clear day, and it's dark and raining today, so Pete drove Grant to Burlington. Thanks, man. You won't get to buy any beer for a looooong time, if you know what I mean!

Is this club great, or what?

Thanks. I’m very fortunate to have an amazingly supportive wife, and friends (both near and far) and neighbors who are extremely helpful and generous.

Pics or it didn't happen right?

I flew KAID - KFKL in about 3.4 hours, KFKL to KPEO in 1.9, and then 1.9 to KGFL.

This was my first solo flight in 2 years, so kind of interesting change of pace from the work plane. It was fun to not talk to anyone for most of the flight and just cruise for a change.

Lots of fun was had, but might want to start a TN Wings fund if you plan on 7 hour cross countries regularly, haha.

Great meeting you, enjoy the new toy.
