If they find one, suggest to them that they move fast. The price of used 172s has gone through the roof as flight schools snatch them up. My old flying club wound up spending $180,000 to get a 180-HP version in good shape with decent avionics a few months ago. I was amazed.

A well preserved and equipped C150 value will also be pulled up with demand

Rick is right, 172's are much stronger in price and demand than a year or two ago. So are most under $60,000 or so planes, but 172's especially so.

I'm glad someone else noticed that. I was looking at 172's - just for the fun of it... no intention in the slightest of getting one... and noticed that what once was $35,000 is now north of $45,000 - $50,000, and the majority much above that.

Wondered if I was imagining what I saw in the past.

The new Basicmed is bringing a lot of pilots back into aviation and a greater demand for the 172 and 150 as a result. I have noticed in the last six months that both models are gaining value once again.
