It was listed there last month too.
I asked the seller "What was done to fix the hail damage?"

Never got a reply.

So you beat me to it....I notice there aren't any close ups where you could see the hail damage. I suspected we'd see Herb's plane again.

I e-mailed the following question to the seller:
You say "Paint and Interior are both excellent", but what is the condition of the exterior? The photos are too small and too far away to get a good look. Any damage history? Is the title clean, any salvage history?

Here is his reply:
The paint is the exterior. Exterior is in excellent condition. Thats as close as I can get with my camera, without cutting off parts of the plane in the picture. Your welcome to come take a look at the plane if you're seriously interested in it. No Damage history, clean title.

I think an e-mail to eBay about seller fraud is in order.

It's registered to a George Siegel fron Hillsboro, Oh.
Certificate Issue Date 08/02/2006

Listed on E-Bay by Williams Aviation and Cycle.

I wonder if Williams Aviation is just listing it for George.

Just sent them another question.

"What are all those small dents on top of the wings and control surfaces? Seems to be a lot of them."

See if they get back to me.

Got a quick reply:
"I don't see any dents. Maybe its your screen. Everyone thinks they know something they don't. Come look at plane if you're serious."

I wrote that I knew the plane was hail-damaged, declared a total-loss by the insurance company and sold for salvage; and asked if he changed the top-skins and repainted the airplane.

His reply:
Then why ask a question you already think you know the answer to?? You obviously have no interest in purchasing it. I have personally seen and photographed this airplane, and there is no damage.

Seems like the gauntlet's been thrown - anyone near Xenia, OH that can verify his claims?

Hello Everyone:

In an effort to disprove what this guy has been saying, i.e. "no damage", here's a copy of the letter from AIG to me on 4/8/2006. Does anyone out there know of "ANY" insurance company, parting with $26,150, because it's the NICE THING TO DO? The plane was a total loss, the damage was real, and even Ray Charles, whould have been able to see that!

Thanks guys, I really feel for the individual that buys this aircraft when it's sold as, NO DAMAGE.... BUYER BEWARE!

Wow, Herb.

Man.

Caveat Emptor.

Sheisters everywhere. What a damn shame, too.

If there is a bright spot to all this, it's pretty neat to see the way that everyone is looking out for each other. What with this instance, Roy's airplane, and innumerable other instances.

Still.... it's good to have someone watching your six.
