Perusing barnstormers for no particular reason. I’m not in the market for an airplane right now. I came across this:
https://barnstormers.com/listing_images.php?id=1315628

I don’t know if this is the same airplane:

Low airframe hours (2300). The airplane is in Prescott and the owner is in Anchorage. It looks like it’s only had something over 300 hours since its SH conversion. It probably does a lot of sitting in the hanger. Owner wants a lot for it. Still, the price might be negotiable and it’s a Sparrowhawk with owner stated 40 gal, LR tanks.

Yep a little pricey. Don't see many Sparrowhawks. I have always wondered why it was not a more popular conversion.

Good wife, good friends & a Cessna 150. Life is good.

"Every nut, bolt, part or piece either new or OH"

I'd take that with a HUGE grain of salt. Asking price is about 15K too high IMHO. It ain't flown much, and that ain't good for airplanes.

Doesn't seem too expensive, to me, given its credentials.

Jim, Yep, I agree with you. If I was negotiating for this one, I’d notice it hasn’t flown much since it’s OH in the late 90s, that there’s no mention of it’s damage history in the add, that the VSI is in the wrong place, that the transponder is outdated and it’s not ADS-B compliant. For me, I’d have at least 10K in avionics changes.

However, if someone wants one set up like this, it’s not too bad if it passes inspection, and if it could be had for a negotiated price. It would be cool if someone in the club picked it up. It’s nice looking and I like the idea of it.

Zooming in on the panel pic, the transponder is a KT76A, which is a compatible source for altitude data for the ADS-B out sniffer units (GDL-82, etc). One could run it until it dies, then replace it with a GTX-327 or comparable (what my A&P recommended I do, since I also have a KT76A).

I agree though, way, way overpriced. If I was interested, I'd offer $30k and hope the seller would "negotiate" to somewhere in the $35k-$37k range.

"Cruise 110 kts at 7500 and 5.5 gph"?? What's the secret for doing that? Drag-cancelling paint?
