Just pondering a thought, but was wondering what a 4,000 hr 0-200, 400 hrs SMOH is worth? My engine has original cylinders, spin-on oil, brackett air, and has had 2 reputable overhauls.

I'm thinking about the 150 conversion, and was wondering how much I will get for my engine.

BTW, how much would I pay for a low time 0-320 lycoming?, and the conversion costs?. Ballpark. Thanks.

I'm assuming they are readily available.

You have the best of the best to get advice from right there with Gary Shreve.

Then after you wake up and pick your self up and off the floor from the shock of the cost of converting your own aircraft.

You will go in search of one already converted!

Let's just say that $42,000 150/150 that everyone thought was too much will look like a incredible bargain if you decide to convert your own.

Buy one already done unless you have piles of cash in your pocket.

So your saying sell the Plane, I figure 24,000 or so and buy a 40,000 150/150?. 16 grand out of pocket?, that's the best I can do?

150H for sale, 400 SMOH, nice airplane!- $24,000, Any takers?...........Maybe next spring that ad will post. I can see where the 150/150 must really be sweet.

Unfortunately, yes. I think most folks have found that "rolling your own" is considerably more expensive than buying one already done. Especially when you are going after LR tanks and STOL kits that are typically already installed in that price range.

There is a recent post by a member going through the conversion. Haven't read anything on him lately, but he could probably give us some insight.

I think there was even a post that outlined the $$$$ by line item. Seems like (very bad memory hear) like it approached $55-60,000 when you were all done.
