The Yoke audio cable in the parts manual (Figure 85A), is listed as "Cable - Retractile" and part number 8409.
I assume that the "BDN" in the description area stands for Belden, and that the 8409 is a Belden number.

I can't find this anywhere. Belden probably replaced it with another, but their site can't help me.

Has anyone replaced this cable, and with what?

I assume you mean for the yoke with the built in PTT?

I wouldn't recommend this, you understand, but a telephone handset cable works very nicely (I've been told they were also made by Belden)!

(Use the black one though! OEM didn't come in colors! get the one with the round cross section, not flat!)

I use all kinds of Belden cables in my home studio. They actually are one of the more quality cable companies.

Jeff, Do you recognize 8409? It's four conductor, coil cord, shielded audio.

Chris,

It doesn't have to be shielded, if that's your worry! There is NO AUDIO on this cable. One pair of wires is used for the PTT switch. Just a simple switch to turn the transmitter on and off! The other two wires are power and ground for the map light, which you may or may not have installed. The "shielded" quality may add redundant strength in this case, but has no affect on the circuitry, or the quality of transmitted or received signals. I have even seen a 2 conductor cable used, with the shield as common ground for both circuits.

Does Cessna not have it? Good luck finding the "right" cable if Cessna no longer carries it, or you don't want to pay their rediculous markup!!
