I am starting to develop cracks on both sides of the nosecap on my 1967 150G S/N 15064679

The Part number is 0452002-6

I would appreciate information from anyone who may have one or knows where I can obtain this part.

That's a common problem on any of the 150s of that particular vintage, up to, but not including, the L-model when it was changed. Every single one I've ever seen has cracked in the past, (and still is) or has been repaired. Usually, they look horrible.

Years ago, someone on the forum posted a picture of a new metal one from Cessna. You may want to check with Cessna's parts network and see if they're still available. (I just checked Hill Aircraft's online query, see below...) mad eek

Globe Fiberglass used to sell a fiberglass version for a short time, but they're no longer in their online catalog. A quick call to Kevin @ Globe, revealed they did sell them at one time, from an individual who was making them for Globe. As of now, the mold does exist, but it's not in Globe's posession and they're not planning on re-tooling another mold, nor selling them in the future.

Hope you're sitting down:

Hey Robert. There is an outfit in Quebec, Canada that is selling a nose piece for pre-1970 150s.

http://www.aerofairings.ca/parts.htm

Right near the bottom of the page (which is not elegant!) is the part I am referring to - A154. It is both upper and lower matched. Click on the item and there's a (not great) picture. The price isn't bad at $965 Canadian dollars, so an even better deal for you!

That would be great if Robert needed a spinner.
Unfortunately he is in need of the front portion (nose cap) of his upper cowling.

It's a losing battle, but NOW is the time to stop drill cracks and possibly install doublers if your metal cowl cap is just starting to crack- keep it from getting worse. Most already have chunks missing and Frankenstein repairs.

What a shame.

The Pennsylvania Duchess is such a beautiful 150.....a real show stopper.

That site looks like the best deal going, right now, especially when you get the matched set for upper and lower.

Good find, Eric!!

Eric,

You're the man for that post. They have the air intake shroud for only $195 cad.

Bengie, how much does Cessna now sell that part for? eek

I stumbled across the site a while back. I need the winter front insert for my 68H and they have it for $205 (the fact it is Canadian dollars is a huge deal for me!). They also have what I think are very reasonable prices for fairings and wing tips. Plus if you order multiple items there is a "volume" discount:

1-3 FAIRINGS: LISTED PRICE -10%

4-5 FAIRINGS: LISTED PRICE -15%

5+ FAIRINGS: LISTED PRICE -20%
