Sorry Steven, I just noticed where you are located. I need to find something on the west coast.

Hi Elliot..ok how about San Jose? Aircraft Shopper Online has what looks like a nice 65E. TTAF 5876, SMOH 153, NDH, same owner last 37 years! What do you think about this? Id love to buy it myself but still saving...oh the price $19,950. Here's a link to it:

I saw the add and called about it. 153 SMOH is nice. It was a field overhaul. That could be good or bad. I might drive up to see it though.

With a mile of highway, you can go one mile. With a mile of runway, you can go just about anywhere.

Hi Elliot...Would like to know what you thought of the San Jose 65E. I love the E model with the back window/straight tail combo. What's interesting is that there was another 65E on ASO in Long Island a few months ago. They were asking $20K but it didn't have a current annual....which I guess is a red flag. Since then I have found out that it's quite risky buying a 150 that has been near the coast...that is corrosion problems. I don't know about this San Jose model if corrosion would be a factor there. Last year 150/152 member Tony Rubiano listed his 65E in Rochester, NY area....she was a beauty...I loved that plane but didn't want Tony to get his hopes up I would be interested as I wasn't current and hadn't flown in quite a while....But I still watched the sale. She was a beauty that you don't see very often. Funny as here in Arizona you don't have corrosion problems but the sun destroys paint and anything plastic including Plexiglass. Our AZ thunderstorms will also sandblast anything left on a tiedown. Any way would like to know what you think about that CA 65E and good luck!
