I may need a left aileron. :-)

Very nice, Elliot! I've got a '65E in a TX Taildragger and I do love that square tail and "OMNIVISION"!!! Mine flies great; hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine.

I always thought the Omni vision square tailed version was the cutest. I'd have one myself if I wouldn't feel I'd be breaking my vow to my current airplane. 60860 would never forgive me.

So far, I have had to get a new (used) left fuel tank because in the process of replacing the fuel drains, the threads came out of the one on the left tank. I'll be sending both mags off for overhaul tomorrow and found both mufflers need replaceing and they are on order. The carb may also need overhaul. I have two new fuel caps, a new universal joint for the left control yoke. New Hoerner wing tips are on order and I got a new dorsall, both from KNots 2 U. The aelerons are badly in need of rigging. I am also in the process of cleaning up a bit of skin corrosion. I pulled the left fuel tank out today and didn't find any corrosion but I did find a really nice Snap On screw driver under the tank.LOL I'll be removing the entire (useless) vacuum system soon. Don't you just love ForeFlight? I can't wait to get this thing back in the air. I have really enjoyed working on this little plane, almost a much as flying it.
Cheers, Elliot

Elliot! Great to hear you love this 65E! When I first saw her listed, I started dreaming about how neat it would be to own your own 150. Someday I hope to but not until I have the cash saved up. It sounds like you have quite a bit of experience working on airplanes. I don't have that much, except as a mechanics assistant (hey give me that wrench....here's a cowling member etc) working with a B-17 and B-24. Funny as when my youngest son turned 13 we both got into RC...after a few years if I had put the money toward a full scale 150, I'd be half way there! That's great you enjoy working on 150s as well. I got my license in a 150 42 years ago in the Philippines and then "moved on" LOL to a 172 and then a Piper Warrior...The 150 is much more responsive and way more fun to fly.

Glad you love your E! I much enjoy your posts!

Good luck and best wishes!

That's just funny as chit. grin

That poor screw driver being imprisoned deep in the bilges like that for who knows how long and you come along and set it free.

Sounds like you're attacking the old gal with a vengeance and giving her the much needed attention she deserves.

I love reading these kind of action posts. whistle whistle

Any pictures???

I really enjoyed working on Delmar when I got him. Being my first aircraft and all, I had no idea what I was getting into but the club members were a great help as you will find out. It was a heck of a process for me as I checked, checked, tweaked and tweaked some more, painted, cleaned, Alodined, greased, and flew a little bit. LOL

I shudder to think of doing all this to another aircraft.
