I bought this radio from a club member and had it repaired at an avionics shop just to use as a spare. It has been in the box since I got it. I've decided that I don't need it. It comes with the tray and the wiring is intact including the plug for the CDI.
I am willing to part with this for $725.00 CDN plus shipping from E4Z 1G1. With the exchange on the dollar this is a bargain for you guys in the US.
My 300 has issues. When I key the "push to talk" other aircraft hear me key but don't hear the transmission. I noticed on the panel of the 300 I see the "T" for half a second then it goes away. I pulled the 300 and looked around and re-installed. It worked for a day but that was it. I also suspect the VOR is wandering or wondering where it is. LOL. The radio on my KX 135 uses the same everything and works fine.
Yes... I Need a unit. I was tempted to purchase a 300XL. and do away with the 300.

I Gene I am the one who sold the Mx300 to Bruce. I used to fly behind this radio and the problem you described is exactly how the radio was behaving, before removal for an upgrade (and later sold to Bruce).
So you might are probably looking at 706$ (can dollars) repair... (what Bruce paid to get the radio fixed).
The price Bruce is asking (about 580$ USD) is a great deal and the radio is ready to use.
