My 152 goes thru beacon bulbs way too often.
One of the contacts in the bulb socket has a bad spring and makes a bad connection with the bulb.
This generates heat and the contact on the bulb melts away.
So if anyone that has replaced their beacon for a self contained LED beacon and
happens to have an old beacon assembly laying around that they wouldn't mind parting with, let me know.

Thanks

Just for you, I'll make you a deal. You buy me an LED tail beacon and I'll GIVE you, for free, my old Cessna, factory-original tail beacon. I'll even throw in a fresh bulb. smile

Ron, if nobody can help you out here, Aircraft Spruce should have what you need: AEROFLASH SOCKET & PLATE ASSY P/N 073-0021

http://www.aircraftspruce.com/pdf/2016Individual/Cat16620.pdf

$23.50 new

I replaced mine several years ago due to similar issues to what you are experiencing and haven't had to replace the lamp since....well worth it IMHO.
