I just had mine repaired during the annual. Patched a small hole in the bottom, some kind of fancy paint and its back to doing what it does best - keeping the battery out of sight.

My battery box has four holes on the bottom -- the dimples that the battery sits on. They have worn through, probably because of acid from the old Gil battery, battery movement, and time. At my last annual, the mechanic noted the condition (it has been noted before) but allowed me to continue using it. Hopefully it will continue to maintain acceptable structural integrity and I won't have to replace it. How much do these things cost? Are they hard to replace?

On a 152 the box and the supports the box sits on are all riveted so these rivets would need to be drilled out.
Removing the box also eases the job of a thorough cleaning which then allows an application of a corrosion resistant epoxy coating, priming and painting for future protection and cosmetics.
A cut to fit 1/8" thick reinforced baffle material pad for the battery to sit on does a stellar job of absorbing the vibration so the battery doesn't sit directly on the metal box and rub on each other.
It goes without saying that a sealed gel battery goes a long, long way at keeping the effects of battery acid destruction at bay.
Here's my C-150 box. I cleaned and painted it while it was still riveted in. Also, a generous club member once gave me some parts to repair a broken cover latch. With the new sealed battery, it's holding up pretty well, 'cept for those holes on the bottom...
