What make Cockpit/Canopy cover do you folks recommend? Also, if you could give a hint as to where to buy said cover that would be a great help.
Thank you and Happy New Year!

Many of us here like covers from Planecover.com [planecover.com] aka Ground Tech. They're also one of the sponsors of the Clinton Fly-In.

I agree with Hung. The cover fits tight to the plane so no chafing of the paint or glass. Soft material underneath anywhere the cover touches the windshield.

Agree with above recommendations...I have a horton STOL kit on my 150 and they contacted me at my hangar to get specific measurements for the fences, etc. to make sure it was a perfect fit...which it is...highly recommend...

Thanks for the (not-so) gentle direction over to this thread, guys!

Know about what one weighs for a Cherokee? Normally Sally and Wilbur are hangared so I'd like to get Sally a cover for our western adventure this summer. We'll try to travel fairly lightly so, although I want something durable, it's not going to be on the plane all the time -- just while traveling.

Thanks!
Catherine

I suggest you email or call the owner, his email address and phone number is on This Page [planecover.com] . He's a very nice guy. I had one for my 152 way back in 2001, so I don't remember its exact weight.

I'm on my 3rd cover from Mac's Airplane Covers [airplane-covers.com] and have been very satisfied. The company has been easy to work with, and the covers have been tight on my plane. I've seen some covers that fit loosely and move in the wind. Those can cause scratches over time. I like that these covers also protect the top of the cabin. I don't know what they look like on a low wing plane.

My plane is tied down outside, so after several years in the sun the material does decay. His is just nature, though. Most cover makers use similar materials.
