My neighbor, Bill, is selling his home due to a job relocation.
He is keeping his Bellanca Super Viking, which I'm glad to hear.

The home has an attached hangar and direct access to Z98 Ottawa Executive Airport (3800 ft paved strip).

I have nothing to gain by the sale of this home. I'm just spreading the word, because it really is a beautiful home.
Coincidentally, another bigger home on the street is also for sale, should you be interested.

Regards,
Dale

Wow, that's an attractive price - and I've flown out of that airport, nice place.

Were I still living in Michigan...

Oh, and the winters aren't that cold, the lower part of the state is surrounded by water on three sides, which keeps it from getting as bitterly cold as midwestern states that are as far north. However, lake effect snow can be monumental. As I recall, that airport had pretty good snow removal.

I can echo what Rick has said about the lake-effect snow.

While I am a born-and-raised Michigander, I have never lived close to the Lake MI shoreline - until now. We are about 15 miles from the lake, and the snow can be incredible.

On the other hand, the comfortable Summer breezes and beauty of the lake's shoreline help to offset the Winter harshness.

It's not perfect, but it's home.

The incredible fall colors also do their part.

In the 17 years I lived in Michigan, I had more beautiful fall flights than anywhere else I've lived.

On the other hand, it was easy to stay IFR current in actual conditions because they appear quite a bit. (What comes after two days of cold rain in Michigan? Monday.)

Warmest regards,
Rick

Nice home. But $300 a month approx. for taxes!?!

But let's see, that lower level looks like a nice apartment.... maybe I could cover the taxes and some turning it into ... oh, never mind the cold would make me crazy. smile

Glen,

Hey, Michigan doesn't have massive numbers of tourists and snow birds to fleece - that's not bad for property taxes in the real world! smile Besides, the state cut its corporate taxes to nothing; it's gotta find the money to provide essential services somehow.

Warmest regards,
Rick

I lived in Traverse City for a year, about 500 feet from the bay.

I was at work (near Cadillac) and got snowed in for a week. I watched a snowplow driver get rescued by snowmobile on the third day.

There are REASONS that I live in the West! wink
