Kicking around the idea of picking up a child seat for the 152. I still need to run some weight and balance calculations to see if it's even feasible but let me know if you know of any for sale. Thanks

KRN Aviation Services krn.com has one. Part # AK150-73. I inquired about it also it's new old stock and is $1,800.00!!! Too rich for my blood.

If you still want it call over there.

I have one of these in mine. Works well while the kids are small.

You should be able to find one on e-Bay if you keep looking. Might also want to check with the bone yards.

I've seen them on eBay for 1/3 or less that cost... just keep your eye out. Barnstormers too.

Does it seem like it would work well with a car seat or more just for a younger kid sitting on the seat?

Be aware that the AvFab seats have, effectively, zero resale value. The seats they sell are only legal for the specific serial number aircraft they are installed in. If an AvFab seat is bought used, the only legal way to install it is to return it to AvFab so they can "recertify" the seat. Their cost to "recertify" is about the same as buying a brand-new seat.

The OEM seats can be installed with just a logbook entry (no STC - they're a stock part). However, there were slight variations through the years, so getting the correct one for a particular year/model is sometimes a bit difficult. Often the seat-belt and associated hardware is missing.

For the price, I've seriously considered owner-fabricated. For really young kids I would just strap a car-seat to the baggage compartment floor.
