i am looking to buy what is referred to as the "decorative covers" for the panel of my 1972L model. These are the two plastic pieces that surround the instruments and are held on by Velcro. Thank you in advance for recommendations as to where to buy these. I look forward to doing a lot of reading on this forum and learning about my airplane.

Antonio,

Welcome to "The Club".
If anyone calls you an Outkast it's a good thing. smile

Where on Long Island are you?
Some of us were down at Bayport last weekend.

You should think about coming to the Cessna 150-152 Fly-in [cessna150152flyin.org] this summer.
There a re a bunch of us from the North East that go and you can caravan with us.
It's a great time!

Yeppers, I am a "new" guy. Been lurking here for a few years and finally joined up. I keep my airplane at Brookhaven Airport (KHWV) tied down outdoors. Would like to have a hangar but $625.00 month is a tad steep as I continue to fund my kids degrees (emphasis on the plural). I am a member of the Bayport Aerodrone Society though I do not attend many Sunday afternoon meetings. I am a good friend of the current president, John Hess, who is a great guy. I will consider the fly in if I could caravan with others.
Thanks for the welcome. I love my airplane and will post some pics as soon as I can get some resized.

Welcome to the forum. Does your plane have the acorn nuts to secure the plastic covers to the instrument panel? They hold better than just Velcros.

That is a good question. Currently held on by Velcro which I am told was the method prescribed at time of manufacture.

My main plastic cover is held in place by 4 acorn nuts, plus a missing one.

I have seen Velcro used, but I think the original mounting for all was studs and nuts.
