That's easy....honey, have you ever been to the quiant little town of Clinton IA. There is this neat little theatre on a paddle wheeler, the Mississippi River that we can cruise down in the airplane....etc etc.

However, don't touch on shopping or the "mild weather"...that would make you a liar. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Now convincing the wife, that's another story!

Don't let her stand in your way!

....Here's an idea .. Just sit her down in front of the computer and all the club members can very nicely convince her for you.

Sounds easy enough, without knowing the "real" situation there at home.

By the way, talking about limited piloting experience, I will fly to Clinton solo from NY within month of receiving my ticket. Gotta start somewhere! This is what GA and a PPL is all about! Use it before we lose it. (Sounds like something out of Roysons' book )

Well Clinton's a little bit out of my comfort zone for solo cross countries right now (I've got a whopping 87 hours!) maybe next year I'll have a little more experience under my belt.

Henri, Where are you located? maybe you could meet up with a "convoy" and fly with a group. It does wonders for your
confidence when you fly with a group.

I'm due east of you in Columbus, OH. and would be glad to "pick you up" on my way if we can arrange it. At our range, it's just two cross country trips hooked together with a fuel stop. Piece of cake!

Henri, Where are you located?

Ron,
I think he must be near Indianapolis, that's where his flying club is out of anyway.

Henri,
Anyone us could probably scoop you up or have you join one of the caravans that'll be passing right by anyway.
We better get this wife thing straightened out first, though. The boss is the boss if ya know what I mean.

Yup we're in Indy.

The boss is the boss that's for sure! Problem is that I'm trying to get to Oshkosh too (by car though!) and I figure 2 flying related trips probably is a little too much for the boss. mmm... tempting though.

Wrong approach!

Tell her it's one extended trip, and her shopping budget expands accordingly!
