A year ago I installed a set of Hoernor high performance tips on my 150.. They have made a world of difference.

Are the "high performance" tips any different than Met-Co-Aire's normal Hoerner tips?

I had mine installed last year at Clinton as a demonstration. I love them...

At 2,500 feet, 2500 RPM, I cruise at 100 knots.

But then, I use MMO and 2 coats of speed wax. wink

Jim, thanks for the info. Did you see an instant improvement? I think I will change to them and sell the Madras tips. I wonder what everyone that have them have to say about them. Any one with VGs also?

Yes. I'll fish them out of storage and post a picture. Bug me if I forget.

A set just showed up on barnstormers.com at a reasonable price. That'd be easier than me going digging for the ones I think I have but don't quite know where.

Looking on Barnstormers, I see one ad for 150 tips but they are the standard ones.

I'd like to find a set of CCs for my own plane, so if you run across yours, please let me know.

I notice shorter takeoff and better cruise and very low stall speed. The indicator is well below 40 KTS when it even thinks about stalling.
