Hey there, I just found this, thought maybe someone would want to take a look. Not sure who he is, but he is around the bay area.
Engine for sale, bay area. [craigslist.org]

What I would like to know is why he is selling the engine? I know he's rebuilding the aircraft, but does getting a new engine buy him anything? There's a good 1400 to 1800 hours left on the one he's got.

I don't know what I would do in this case.

And he only wants $8K for a relatively low time Lycoming?

I'll bet he folded the nose gear and had a prop strike!
