I didn't see you provide Mark with an answer. I guess there isn't any reasonable mechanic in Houston?
I'm familiar with Jason at Wilson Aircraft at Weiser (KEYQ). Good guy - fast, efficient, honest. But, he's VERY busy with planes from the flight schools based there. Don't know his hourly rates, however, but he has done some stuff for me.

Reasonable mechanics are like good babysitters - when you find one, you don't tell anyone else so they'll always be available!

There's certainly some truth to that. Jason is VERY busy - I ALWAYS see him working on somebody's airplane, and he does good work. As I said, he's honest, does good work, and will work with you to rectify an issue. But, he's REALLY a busy guy!
