I sold my 100hp Ercoupe a couple of months ago; I was offered more than I didn't want to sell it. Way too much..Wish I had not sold it at any price. No rudder pedals, best ever airplane in crosswinds. Not LSA of course. Easiest airplane in history to fly. Absolutely cannot spin or stall...try to stall and it will only lose altitude wings level with yoke pulled back, power on or off and just propose, nose down pickup airspeed, nose up lose airspeed continuously. Mine had fabric wings with easy access for inspections, no problems. Completely restored '48 E series. Like I lost an arm.

Also sold my 0-200 Ercoupe 425-D a couple of yrs ago. Total fun to fly, but not conducive to the 2,000 ft, rough grass strip that I operate out of now...not a short field plane, even with 100hp & a climb prop. I'll take a 150 tw any day. Great plane in the pattern though; super handling & awesome visibility.

As soon as I can get my girlfriend out to the airport she'll take a bunch of pictures.

Like I mentioned above, the Ercoupe will always hold a passion for me. Only those who have owned one will understand. I really enjoy my A150M and that will be my focus for the foreseeable future.

Thanks for posting the link, Jim. My brother loved his Ercoupe, and I sent the article on to him. It may motivate him to go to Oshkosh this year.

The flying club I belong to has an Ercoupe, 1946 or so, no rudder pedals. Landing in a cross wind, crab all the way down. Once you touch down "counter steer" like you're in a rear wheel drive car doing a burnout. That's my best comparison. I also have never seen one without electric, but it would take a very long extension cord to use ground power like your example...

Trina hates the Ercoupe. The one time she rode in it the weather was too cold to have the canopy open so she rode for 20 minutes with her head cocked left and hitting the canopy. She has all kinds of not so nice words for that plane.

Tell your friend about Jessica Cox.

She was born without arms, and with the Scarecoupe she only needs to handle ("footle"?) all the stuff we use our hands for.
