You will not go wrong with Shelby at TN Wings. Great guy with more than fair prices and his work is excellent. You can reach him at 731-658-7422.

The only time you would need "new" seats for your plane is if the metal frames of the existing seats are broken beyond repair.

Shelby will replace all the "soft" pieces of the seat (fabric, padding, webbing). I believe he can also repair cracks or breaks in the metal frame.

150 seats are pretty small - no matter what you do, they'll never feel like the driver's seat of a modern luxury automobile. That being said, Shelby does some great magic.

Before I used Shelby I replaced the foam padding and webbing under the existing upholstery of my 150 seats. That made them go from "Sore" to "Tolerable". Later, I sent the seats to Shelby. They came back "Comfortable". smile

Quick question... how many ducats does "comfortable" cost?

It was awhile ago. But I think the bill was about $700. That was sending two seats and having Shelby do everything - strip, clean, reweb, reupholster with memory-foam and ship back. The seats ended up being 3lbs heavier (each), but much more comfortable.

I'll second the comfort issue and add looks! I had the regular seats Cessna had originally in Mary Lou. Yeah, they were worn and the foam rubber was permanently compressed. My rear was sore and the rest of me was stiff after only an hour or son. A seat workover from TnWings was the prescription! New foam and the leather covering, and lemme tell ya, it's great. I can fly hou a bunch of hours in a day, and no issues getting out and moving around because of stiffness or comfort issues. I love 'em.

Had 'em since 2007, and they're still looking new. IMHO, it's the only way to go.

Hmm... Mine look good, but a couple hours on the delivery flight certainly took their toll on my rear.

Engine monitor decision is on the front burner right now (I think I'll start a thread in avionics and let the fun begin), but $700 ish isn't too bad for what sounds like very nice seating. The exchange rate is going the wrong way at the moment though so $700 is now about $840+ in coloured money.

I asked Shelby the price to have my Cessna 150M seats completely redone when I was there last month.

$850.00

And that was the the Poob's discount...

I had Shelby make some new cushions for my plane. They came out great and look good. Here is a shot with the copilot side done and the pilot side in need. each side took about two hours including sanding down some rusty spots and repainting the frames.
