The owner (and his family) are dumping a bunch of aircraft. They used to be very active in aviation, but aren't spending much time at it now. Their marketing skills, as seen in the eBay listing, aren't that great. If interested, I suggest a phone call with the owner. He'll give a lot of information beyond the listing (I couldn't figure out SMOH from their eBay ad, for instance). Anyway, nice new radios, GPS, transponder, and glide slope indicator put in for one of the brothers to get his IFR just a few years ago. High visibility yellow. Mechanics available on the field for a pre-buy look at it. Here's the listing [ ebay.com] I've no interest in the 150, financial or otherwise. Just passing along since I enjoyed dealing with the seller on a Fouga he was also dumping and thought someone here might be interested.

I have bought used cars that cost almost that much! And, in Arizona, the corrosion problems should be minimal. | | | | Joined: Jun 2004 Posts: 35,585 Likes: 565 DA POOBS Member with 30,000+ posts!! | DA POOBS Member with 30,000+ posts!! What is this "corrosion" of which you speak? I've not encountered it before (well, except for that airplane I bought in Torrance... or that other one from Fort Lauderdale). Yeah, Arizona is a good place to find rust free vehicles. Plus, I could be easily talked into flying this 150 to the new owner.

Having said that, it's much more enjoyable having your loved one sitting next to you as opposed to flying next to you. Jim

Are west coast planes typically not associated with corrosion even is based near sea? My plane spent its life in Fallbrook, CA from 1975-2001 and is squeaky clean on any corrosion.

No corrosion problems, and I don'r use anti-corrosion treatments. As far as I can tell there's no more corrosion here than in any other coastal state. If you look at a map of the states, there are a LOT of them! | | | | Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 2,657 Member/2500+posts | Member/2500+posts Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 2,657 | Lost log book----high time engine

My plane was sold to Malibu Flyers and lived there from Dec 1968 to Spring 1972, then it lived at Corona airport until the last couple months before I bought it at Brown Field. It has corrosion. But not in places to be cared about.
