I realize this has NOTHING to do with airplanes but I figured it would not hurt to post it here.
While growing up my best friend and neighbor Steve, who's father collected classic cars, acquired many projects. Over the years, his father brought home MANY different classics. This is one of those cars.
I have been close friends with the family for as long as I can remember. Growing up, Steve's mother Lorraine was like my second mother. I never had to knock on the door when I came over, I just walked right in. If Steve was not home, sometimes Lorraine would just have me hang out and feed me till he got back.
Unfortunately, Bernie (Steve's father) was struck down with Alzheimer's a few years ago. He is now in a retirement home and is unable to speak. He will never realize his dreams of fixing up any of his old cars.
Being that Lorraine is in her 70's, she can no longer maintain their 10 acre country home on her own. Lorraine has decided to liquidate Bernie's collection of cars to clean up the property and to help pay for the cost of Bernie's care. She hopes to put the house up for sale next spring and move into a town home.
Since I see them as my own family, I have offered to help Lorraine sell Bernie's cars and clean up the property. I would like to avoid Ebay and Craigslist and sell them to someone that would love them as much as Bernie did. Just this weekend, I managed to put her in contact with a buyer (my Godfather) for her 2 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner cars. A cash offer was made and they were sold! We hauled them out this morning to their new home. Two down, six to go.
This one is a 1929 Chevrolet Special Sedan. I am sorry, the pictures are not the greatest. We did not pull it out of the building to take the pictures. Although it is not shown in the pictures, I think there may be an engine and engine cowling included with it.
This sedan was bought MANY years ago and was parked inside their storage building. It has been in inside storage for at least the last 10-15 years, maybe more. There are some normal spots of rust on it, but all in all, it is really solid. The interior wood of the body needs some work. I was considering buying it for myself but I can not justify having 2 airplane projects AND an antique sedan project.
After talking to Lorraine, she is open to offers on the sedan. Here is a

ebay.com] to an ebay listing for a similar sedan.
I would like to see this one sold. I think it is a very solid project car. If someone here is interested, I can field questions and take more pictures. I am willing to deliver it to any member for the cost of my fuel, within reason. I do not really want to drive to CA of FL.

I am not looking to make anything out of this deal, I just want to help the Lorraine out.
Lorraine also has an almost running and driving 1926 Ford Model T truck for sale. It was restored about 20-30 years ago. It was last driven about 5 years ago in a parade. There are the normal dents and dings of being driven for many years on it. I think if someone cleaned the carb, the fuel tank, and replaced the battery, it should start right up.
Coming soon, a 1928 Nash four door, a 1924ish (I will get more information) Nash sedan parts car, a 1927ish Nash sedan four door (I will get more information), and a wood framed Overland.
Please post here or send me a PM if you are interested.
