For those of you that have read John Frank's book Cessna 172 Buyers Guide, this is an example of a plane he was talking about when he said "find the plane some other guy spent all the money on and buy it".

Visit my web page for pictures.

1960 Cessna 172 For Sale [chopperflights.com]

chopperpilot@windstream.net

Major overhaul completed this year by Gann Aviation in Lafayette, Georgia a highly respected and professional engine builder with years of experience. Engine overhauled to new limits, balanced, blueprinted, port matched, flowed. New Superior Millennium Cylinders, Slick Magnetos, Tempest Spark Plugs, Sky Tech Starter, Plane Power Alternator, Fuel Selector overhauled, New McFarlane Throttle Control, Mixture Control, Carb Heat Cable and much more.

Log books all the way back to the factory test flight!

This Classic Cessna 172 is much nicer than the average.

The 1960 model was the first year of the swept tail. It is also taller than later models you can actually walk under the wing without bumping your head. The Continental 0-300 engine is smooth and has that distinct purr to it. The plane is in an enclosed hanger at Wyatt Field Summerville, Georgia (GA23). Paint and interior both an 8. Last annual March 2014.

Total Time 3889, SMOH 10. And only 30 Hours on a McCauley EM7651 climb prop. Clean clear glass. Wheel pants are painted, striped not installed as we fly out of a grass field.

Nice looking plane, Terry......best of luck selling it as someone has a lot of work invested and this one needs to find a GOOD home.

Thanks Jim. That someone would be me. Now it's time for someone else to enjoy it.

Wow Terry. What a nice job! I toss around in my head from time to time the idea of getting something bigger than our C-150, but so far have been able to contain the urge. Mostly, I fly alone, but it would be nice to be able to run out and pick up the grandkids and my son occasionally.

Why did you decide to give up such a beauty?

Hi Stacey,

Thanks for the compliment. I just don't fly enough to justify keeping a plane full time so it needs to go to someone that will use it and enjoy not having to do anything but fly. If you've checked around you know that it is a very good deal.

Terry,

What a sweet plane. Another thought is to start a club with some others with the plane. That way you get to continue access to it and others share in the cost of running / maintaining it.

Beautiful job on the upgrades and re-finish!

John
