I'm needing a recommendation for a mechanic in the Fitchburg, MA area to do a prebuy on a 150 for me.

well, A few years ago,a mag died at Fitchburg, I had Twin City Airmotive, an FBO there replace both mags, They botched the timing pretty bad, cost me $200 to have stuff put in order at my home airport. I wouldn't go back there . just my opion

I think there is a mechanic at Sterling. It is just down the road and George Jameson is based there.
New England Aviation, in northern Rhode Island isn't too far either.
If you want, one of us in the area can stop in and have a look.

Thanks Ron, I'm making a trip up next week to take a look at it and if I'm still interested arrange a pre buy to be done. If my trip falls through I might ask one of you to stop by.

There is a maintenance shop on the airport that has a very good reputation. I've not used them personally but the NH Wing of the CAP flies their airplanes down to him for maintenance.

Even if you don't have them do the pre-buy, they likely know the airplane and could tell you about it.

Like Ron said, there are several of us who are within a short flight of the Fitchburg Airport and we could go kick some tires for you if you like. Maybe turn it into an Outkast gathering - We don't need much of an excuse to fly and meet up somewhere

I plan on meeting with the owner at KFIT next Wednesday (6/11)in the afternoon. If any of you folks would like to meet me there to take a look I'd appreciate some extra eyes/opinions. It would be great to meet some of you.

I can highly recommend Ed Urbanowski at Urban Aviation Services.

Ed works on my plane and I'm very pleased with the work. Urban Aviation is located at Sterlng Airport (3B3) and is about ten minutes from KFIT. The telephone number is 508-344-8930. Fitchburg is close enough that Ed could drive there in 20 minutes.

Just be aware, the president is coming to our area on Wednesday and there WILL be a TFR that will cover both airports.

Looks like the TFR will keep you guys from coming in and keep me from flying it. I might ask one of you to stop in at your convenience later on and fly the plane if you and the owner are ok with it.
