Bengie, the one you removed looked brand new. Was there a problem with it?

Naw, I just had the itch for a new LED beacon. I think the Whelen 'flasher' unit I removed had been installed about a year when I made the swap. After seeing a Whelen LED in the pattern with me one evening while at the home airport, and visually seeing the difference in brightness when compared to a standard or halogen bulb sold me on the upgrade. At this point, I wouldn't go back to the old style flasher.

I believe the old Whelen flasher that I owned, ended up on an Aerobat about 30 miles south of Sydney, Australia. It's a world traveler, now. smile
