I've got an old Narco Mk 12 radio that I'll give free to anyone that wants it. No idea if it works. Probably just good for parts. Just pay shipping.

Yes, it is. I'm asking that it go to a person who can use it, not to someone who just wants it in their collection of stuff

Kendel,

Sorry after re-reading your post, you have a MK12 and I have a MK-12D, the "D" makes a big difference.

On my radio the adjust knob contacts are getting a little wonky. When I tune, it randomly skips a few clicks, and it is getting worse... Anyways I thought I could use it for a switch since Narco is gone for good, but the models are very different.

Thanks for the offer,
Tim in Mass

A MK 12 is not legal since it is a 60 or 120 chanel radio. Since it is tube radio it isn't even much good for parts.

It may be legal to use it for receive only but to transmit it needs to meet the 30 ppm frequency requirement. I don't think that the Mark 12 does. When the FAA made more channels available for the allocated aviation spectrum they tightened up on the specs for transmitters to prevent bleeding over from one channel to adjacent channels.

J. Cramer provided the following link in th KX170B thread:
http://wireless.fcc.gov/services/in...stations#National%20Aeronautical%20Corp.

The Mark 12 is on the list of unacceptable radios.

Its there and in a pinch I would use it. Been keeping my eye out for a 12D so I'd have two of those instead. If no one wants this spare 12, its going to the scrap heap.
