Does anyone know where to get the red plastic red light cover for the high voltage light. It just pertrudes through the panel cover and the high voltage light sit inside it. Mine cracked and fell out and I would like to get it replaced. Thanks

Wil,

If your high voltage light is like the low voltage light on my 152, you can't replace just the lens. It's an assembly that you wire into the existing wiring.

As I recall, it wasn't that expensive and a piece of cake to replace. What are the specs on your plane and perhaps we can get you the correct part number.

Gary,

Its a 1976 150M. The light appears to just fit inside the red cover and the cover broke maybe it was all one piece but not sure. The light is good and still lights up. The placard below it says high voltage and lights when I turn off the Alt side of the master switch. The red light is just below the Ammeter.

Wil,

Two things...

It acts like a low voltage indicator. It's operated by the alternator control unit (voltage regulator) so you may have something going on there...However, my parts books are at the hangar. I'll post the number in the morning unless someone beats me to the punch. I'm pretty sure you'll have to change the assembly. Again, inexpensive, and if you don't tell anyone, you can do it yourself. That is, if you can butt-splice two wires together.

Will,
The part you're looking for is the overvoltage light assembly, PN S2135-1 Fig. 47 item 64, page 121L from the Cessna parts catalog. It's a one piece assembly. Hope this helps.
