Just wondering if anyone had checked into this ad I saw in TAP? Sorry, but this is the extent of the info I have so far:

Quote
1977 CESSNA 150M, 3972-TT, 5.9 SMOH. King KX135A GPS/COM, KT76A TXP w/encoder, new leather, carpet and glareshield eyebrow, refurbished side panels and dash, new door windows. $21,500. Call (Mike) AR/(870) 489-4304 or (870) 535-8100.

Supposed to be in Pine Bluff, AR. I didn't know if it was near any members close by who would be willing to take a look/see for me and give me their opinion.

I talked to him on the phone and he was going to email pictures. So far, no answer. It appears he's selling an older Bonanza too.

My uncle, who has owned a 150 and flown a bazillion other planes, advised me to steer wide of engines with low SMOH numbers. He told me to look for no less than about a hundred hours SMOH.

Yep....and I K N O W this. How ignorant of me! He said he bought it for his wife to use while learning how to fly. So she gets her certificate and they get the overhaul done. She flys it a little during break-in and decides she likes flying the Bonanza they have, better.

Hmmm, so it sets in the hanger for the last 2 months, getting maybe an hour every 2 weeks. Ok. Now it's all the way up to 5.9 hrs. and still has the mineral oil in it. Hmmmm.

It's been 3 days and 2 requests for pictures and I still haven't seen it. Blamed the error on the secretary. Seems they have the Bonanza AND the 150 up for sale. Something doesn't quite sound right here....

Next!

BTW, anyone real close to Collinsville/Tulsa, OK?

Bengie:

I live in Norman, Oklahoma. That's about 120 miles from the Tulsa/Collinsville area. Weather looks lousy for this weekend and I have other things to do so I can't drive over either. Where is the airplane exactly? I might be able to go over next week to take a look. Let me know.

No less than 100 hours? Yikes! Now you tell me! 72G only had about eight hours on the bottom end when I took delivery! (How many hours on it now, John?) And 9ED only had eighty hours on a major when I purchased it!

Chewing my fingernails................................

Here it is Saturday and he still hasn't sent any pictures. I imagine his secretary forgot again. I called him twice. There won't be a third. Oh well, On to greener pastures........and an appropriate avatar!

43.5 hrs since Annual; 641.8 since bottom. Engine's running great. Now if I could just figure out what's up with the alternator....think maybe my auto circuit breaker is acting up, because the problem seems to be intermittent...
