I have an original starter that worked well when removed but I decided to get a skytec when my mechanic took it apart and discovered the brushes are permanently attached. There is still good meat on them (they're hanging out of the case).
With that is the clutch gear (driven gear?) that my mechanic said was in excellent shape. The small gear spins freely with zero rough and locks firmly in the other direction.
I also have the original throttle and mixture cables, no kinks and still fairly smooth. There was nothing wrong with them but since the firewall was out....and I wanted vernier mixture.
No idea what any of it is worth but if it puts a smile on someones face and helps me pay a month of hangar rent then I am smiling too.
