Here is a link to explain a little about the wing issue. Also names planes with wing issues that I had not heard about.

I don't remember how to make little links.

Way to go, Graeme and Amy.

I had a very short flight in a 1-256 glider, today.

Olive Ann made a darn good airplane. It is said that for every rivit Cessna put in an airframe, Beechcraft put 2 maybe 3. And it shows. Cessna skins are wavy gravy compared to a Beech.

no but I trained a guy who owned one. The Skipper was a real airplane, SO much more than a Tomahawk! I have about 80 hours in one, Love 'em!

Hey, I heard Beechcraft is coming out with a new single engine prop line of aircraft. Coming out of bankruptcy and shedding the name "raytheon"

It'd be awesome if they produced the Skipper again. Just add a few mods to make it up to date with today's technology. I bet they'd sell like hot-cakes if they could keep the price down.

How do they expect to sell the bigger planes if they don't have a primary trainer to make new pilots to sell them to!?

Hi Amy

I always had a fond feeling of the Skipper and Tomahawk. The Skipper and Tomahawk where built under a different set of values than the 150 airframe was based upon. The Skipper and Tomahawk shared the T tail to give people the feeling they where flying a bigger airplane in its characteristics. The two airplanes share a roomier cabin and have a low wing design for all of those reasons. The 150/150 is still just a Cessna 150 that is nose heavy, with a cramped cabin at best, sucks more fuel not much faster than a standard 150 but boy do they climb and some of them I have seen have overheating issues but those can be addressed. If you find the desire to own a Skipper someday go for it. I think they are a wonderful little airplane and parts for the owners I know have never been an issue of yet. Good Luck and pursue your dreams!!!

They shed the name "Raytheon" a while ago when Raytheon spun them off.

Yes, you (and John) are right. I think I got Hawker and Raytheon confused for a minute there. smile
