For Sale:

McFarlane Vent Tube Kit for standard tanks. Stops the fuel from dripping.

Part: MC0400311-119K (the K model comes with a new grommet)

NEW in unopened packaging

Per McFarlane's website [mcfarlane-aviation.com] it fits the Cessna 150B through M models, standard tanks. I bought this for my 1966 "F" model 150 and it did NOT fit because my left wing was reconstructed and the A&P used a different tube. This tube would fit my plane but I would have to drill another hole in the wing which I did not have time to do as my plane was due for annual.

So, it is for sale. $80 plus S&H. I'll ship it whatever way you want. PM me if interested.

A couple of other people with F or G models have found that it doesn't fit. My G has the original wing, and it doesn't fit my plane. So there are some models it just doesn't fit.

Please pardon my ignorance, but why doesn't it fit?

Bill, there's a lengthy thread in the Tech Questions section about this, including some pictures I posted. Briefly, the distance on my plane between the tank and the hole at the bottom of the wing is about an inch more than the McFarlane tube is designed for, and the vertical drop below the wing to put it behind the strut is about an inch less. There are about three different Cessna part numbers used on various models, and the McFarlane tube doesn't seem to directly replace all of them. I'd recommend that people with models around F and G would be wise to measure the distance from the tank or wing root to the hole before ordering or buying one.

Sorry, Tigers, didn't intend to hijack your thread, just wanted to point out that there are a few planes with standard tubes that the McFarlane doesn't fit. It would be appropriate for any other discussion about the tube and what it does or doesn't fit to take place in the Tech Questions thread.

Tell you what - buy it and leave it in the original packaging. It comes in a sealed clear plastic bag. If it doesn't fit, then repost it on here -- it will sell again. SO let me rephrase my tag line:

Fits MOST Cessna 150B through M models and MOST 152's. Please follow up with McFarlane. Oh, if you want to measure your tube, I can send you the dimensions.

Wow!

Just got the McFarlane Newsletter saying the eligibility has been expanded to include my 150J. May need to reconsider the purchase.

They will take it back, I just wanted to give first chance to a member here as I wouldn't gouge on the shipping.
