I don't even wear my "Confab" t-shirts...too many people ask, "What's a confab?" It's a fly-in. And, why is there so little correlation (read mutual support) between the International Cessna 150/152 Club and the Clinton Cessna 150/152 Fly-In?
Believe me...I get the reason Royson made the separation. And I agree...it's just too much for two people to handle logistically and financially. I cherish my 2006 Caravan T-Shirts. But a shirt for a "confab"? What the heck is a confab in the corn, and why would I want to go? Oh, it's a family reunion and the most fun you can have with your plane?
Maybe I'm just feeling the heat. But "Confab"? I suppose no matter whatchyacallit, I'll be there.

Nowadays it usually means a low-key conference, i.e. an off-site business meeting without the suits & ties.

Now, back to your regularly scheduled prografabs.

I may have not heard confabulate, but I have heard Confab more than a few times. The "Official" name is The Cessna 150-152 Fly-In. Confab in the Corn is the nickname for the event.

It's an alliteration. .oO (Ooo, there's another big word, maybe I'd better shut up now.) Gary, Bob, call it what ever you'd like, just as long as you're there.

None of the folks who have been in our club for a time are surprised that Kirk is probably the only one who knew the definition of "confab". | | |
