Looking for feedback on what its worth, heres the details and Ill try and get pictures in the next couple days.TT around 2700 SMOH 700 (times are approx). Just completed annual and IFR/Xponder check this month. Has a KX155 w/ GS and Narco 12D cessna replacement. Original Narco Xponder. Interior is in good shape other then plastic being faded. The bad- Paint is terrible and windows not alot better. I bought the plane just over a year ago and was thinking about doing the windows and paint this year but might sell it and go for the Aerobat. Ive put roughly 130 hours on it in the last year. Prior to seeing the post before this for the one for 15,500.... I was thinking somewhere around 18,500-19,000 range but now am not sure. Basically its a decent time, flying 150 that needs cosmetics. Nice and solid otherwise. Thanks for any input and Ill try to figure out the picture thing by monday night. | | | | Joined: Jan 2006 Posts: 6,526 Member/5000+posts! | Member/5000+posts! 14K-15K If you really want to sell it, now.
16K-17K If you want to sell it within one year.
18K-19K If you want to own it forever and don't mind looking at your "for sale" sign on the prop.
It's worth will be determined by how fast or badly you need to sell it into this market.
I like the idea to upgrade to the aerobat. It's a great market to buy in, unfortunately you'll likely take a hit on your current bird. Good luck.

With that said, guess it wouldn't hurt to put it for sale if I decided too and just keep flying it. If it did actually sell great if not no big deal. Wouldn't take a hit on this one as I got a great deal on it but thinking about what I would have to get out of it to justify selling it and getting the Aerobat | | | | Joined: Jan 2006 Posts: 6,526 Member/5000+posts! | Member/5000+posts! I bought my plane in February 2006....in what was probably near peak for pricing in used 150-152's. Spent nearly 22K for it. It was probably the best 22K I've ever spent! Priceless is this opportunity to own and fly your own airplane.
Have any details/pictures on the aerobat you're going to check out? Lot's of people here will be more than willing to express opinions on it, and help guide you along.
Good luck, nonetheless. | | | | Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 230 Member/100+posts | Member/100+posts Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 230 | Waiting to receive pictures from the guy via email. Its a 1971 A150L. 14-1500 TT with 400 SMOH in the last 2 years. Original green and yellow paint is fading but still all there. Origninal interior in good shape (any idea what that would look like? If it green and yellow like the paint that would remind me of an RV dad used to have with shag carpet). 2 Kx 155's and a KN64 DME,Garmin audio panel. Plane was hangared for 20 years prior to this guy buying it and doing the engine/avionics for his kid to learn to fly and use himself. Thats about all the info I got over the phone. He said he was asking 32,000. Little more then I would like to spend but may look into it. Havn't seen too many aerobats with those radios and a fresh overhaul. I'm the kind of person that changes my mind/ideas every day so before all is said and done I may keep mine and paint it, keep it and fly it ugly, sell it and get something completly different or who knows....Never been to partial to anything mechanical so always looking to trade things up | | | | Joined: Mar 2011 Posts: 47 Member | Member Joined: Mar 2011 Posts: 47 | Chad just sent you a PM...I'm interested. | | | | Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 8,775 Likes: 300 Member/7500+posts | Member/7500+posts Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 8,775 Likes: 300 | Good luck, Chad, whichever way you decide to go. My personal opinion is that is a person can buy a C-150 for the current going prices, take that airplane and actually fly around the country, it is just amazing. I would like to have an aerobatic mount, but for now will hang onto our 150H. | | | | Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 230 Member/100+posts | Member/100+posts Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 230 | Stacey, kinda leaning that way after putting some more thought into it, $12,000+ for the difference can buy alot of avgas, some aerobatic training in a rental, and a float plane rating.....
Think I'll plan on keeping it right now, hard to think of actually selling a flying airplane for 15k...We'll see how long this plan sticks...Being slow at work can be a bad thing when there are so many neat planes for sale to get the wheels spinning | | | | Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 230 Member/100+posts | Member/100+posts Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 230 | Know for sure now, looks like I'm hanging onto mine. The seller contacted me and said his wife just told him that his son is taking IFR training as a surprise so he can't sell it. Thanks for the input. | | |
