This is the wrong kind of thing to say to a guy like me. I love projects.

I am with Gary. I also retract my bid. After looking at the pictures, my top bid would be around $3000.00.

I did a pre-buy inspection on a 1954 Cessna 170B That I thought was at least worth $35,000.00. Owner wanted $45,000.00. Her husband died 2 1/2 years ago. She needed to sell the plane.

Appraiser was there same day I was doing the pre-buy inspection. His appraisal in todays market.......

$28,500.00 for an airplane that overall is a 8 out of 10.

This makes me think of the planes that I have seen languishing in the weeds for year after year with out even a glance from the owner. With this one being inside all that time I thought it would have avoided many of those ravages of time, but I see it has fallen prey to most of them. Saturday I'll find out it's fate and let you know. It may be that evening before I'm back to a computer.

Maybe it's fitting, but it's sale will take place in a livestock auction barn. Yea really! They are selling the guy's land which includes the private airstrip this was kept on. As far as I know he doesn't need the money. This was a well to do manufacturing family with an on going farm equipment business. Hence the agricultural connections.

I am glad it is too far for me to drive. I would be there with a trailer, some tools, and cash in my pocket.

Here's something to compare against [cgi.ebay.com] that may be in the same condition as the 150 you're looking at. I like how it has sunk down to the axles.

I note zero bids. This guy would be lucky to find someone to haul it away free. Nobody (rational) is going to pay 10K for a 30K airplane that will require 50K to make airworthy.

If you could get it for $5k, it could be combined with my $5k 1956 172 to make a $25 aircraft with $5k worth of parts left over. Assumption is that labor is free.

It's not quite that bad, but close, it was on concrete. I'm going tomorrow check in hand but with very low expectations. My A&P had visions of us flying it home after some diligent inspections, repairs and who knows what. I think we'd just pull the wings off and take her away on a trailer. I have a low 8x8 trailer that would work and leave the tail on, just flag it. I've hauled all sorts of stuff before. This would be easier than much of what I've brought home. The wings would be a second trip. But heck I don't even own it. We'll see what happens.

Since Kevin just flew into Appleton maybe we'll go together.
