We just added an airplane to the club classifieds that looks like it might be a winner. It's a low time 69 150J with a mid time 150HP engine, and an unusually nice IFR equipment stack. PMA 7000 Audio Panel/MRK BCN, KX 135A GPS/Com, KX 125 Nav/Com w/KN 73 G/S Receiver, KNS 80 RNav/DME/VOR/ILS, and a Shadin Fuel Flow Indicator, all for what looks like below market value @ $27K.

Boy...that one looks like a steal...Might have some lack of use issues (times were similar to mine and it had very little use for many years), so corrosion and camshaft spalling issues will be a concern. But at that price you could put a few bucks into it and still be ahead.

She is nice I love these little airplanes. Here is a link to another real nice one Aerobat it's in Ann Arbor KARB. They stole my seat! Not sure what kind of shape the bottom cushion is in I had to have mine replaced where the leather is sown together it was cracking.

We had this one listed in our classified section for a short time, but I was just notified last week, from the seller, that this cutie was sold. Boy, they don't stick around long! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

I am surprized this one sold quickly. In checking with AOPA and with my insurance agent, a 1973 Aerobat with 2200 TT and 600 smoh should not be worth more than mid to high 20's. It could be worth $30,000 if the engine was just overhauled and the paint was new, but not in this case. I also came accros a 1977 Aerobat with 1950 hours TT and 200 SMOH which needed a paint job for $24,500 firm ( I was too late to buy it). Even with new paint, it would cost no more than around $30,000.

Airplanes will sell at a price that the buyer is willing to pay. But for me, I won't buy an airplane that is almost $10,000 overpriced and the seller won't budge (incedently, this same airplane was for sale in TAP late last year for $34,000 OBO).

Several of you have missed the point. It is not a Nice 150 for sale...but a Nice 150 Horsepower (i.e. Lycoming STC or more affectionately known as a 150/150) for sale. Prices start in the upper $20's and go on up to $50K based on my prior research before selling mine. I sold mine in a matter of hours for over $30K thanks to the fact that someone on the old board had a friend looking and felt he knew my bird because of all the posts.

I was writing about the Ann Arbor A150 which is not 150hp modified. Just 0-200 100hp.

I have a refurbished C150 that I use for commuting to work. I've got around another 300 hrs (I fly 300 hrs a yr) to my second Major Overhaul. Was thinking now might be a good time to think about upgrading to a 150 hp C150. Of those that have the 150hp., what did you end up paying for the conversion? I really think it might be best for me to buy another a/c.. Also, what is the average cruise speed and fuel burn at about 3,000 MSL for the 150hp C150?

I just purchased a 150/150, and i can tell you, it was WAY cheaper than doing the conversion myself. Depending on how cheaply you can acquire a 0-320. The STC from Del Air is $8000. Then you have to buy the engine, so maybe 8-13k, depending on if you want a new-used-low time-midtime, whatever. Then, if you aren't an A&P, you have to pay someone 65-70 bucks an hour to install it. Quite an undertaking, unless you are absolutely IN LOVE with your airframe. Look at the club newsletter from early 03, the article is titled "everything you ever wanted to know about the 150 conversion" or something like that. You may have to wait awhile for a good one to become available near you, but hey, you have 300 hrs! I got a 77 150M with a mid time 0-320 for less than 25k. Look in the mountain states.
