The shaft is corroded on the end opposite the clevis yoke. Just the shaft is over 300 bucks if you were to buy one from Cessna. A new Lord shimmy dampener from Spruce is about 700 dollars. If anyone has a shimmy dampener laying around that they don't want... Or, if anyone just happens to have a shaft for one laying around... Thank you! I removed the nose strut, disassembled it, and removed the paint from the strut and all of the steering components. Today, I made a make-shift alodine tank, and they all came out looking nice. I figured that if I'm really tearing into it, might as well tear into ALL of it.
