I bought my Cleveland's in a kit from Aircraft Spruce. It came with everything and was a simple install.

New wheels, brake pads, calipers, rotors, bearings, hardware etc....everything was included.

I think all I reused was the fitting that attaches the brake line to the caliper.

I'm leaning toward the Aircraft Spruce kit at the moment, unless my mechanic can somehow come up with a better price on the Cleveland individual parts. What an education this has been!

Long term....it is (in my view) the right decision.

I went out to the hanger yesterday and removed the tires from the wheels and looked them over.

I didn't see any obvious cracks or corrosion issues. The mating surfaces of the two halves on both wheels are in great shape as well.

I also have the McCauley brake calipers and chromed rotors that I'll never use which I'll send you if you want them.

The calipers should be disassembled, cleaned up and have new o-rings installed. I did not remove the pistons for a look see but I'd assume they are in good shape as they were working just fine when removed but you really should look them over.

Ron, I may very soon have a set for you as well. At the time I started looking for wheels, I also joined the CPA and did some fishing. I figured a year's dues would be worth it if I found some parts that noone here had. Well, someone did have a set from a 172, and the parts manual had the part number matched with my wheels under the WEU category (when exhausted use) for part number changes from the manufacturer that are backwards compatible.
