I have an old Garmin GPSMAP 195 that works well but lacks a few things.

I'm looking for the battery pack that takes AA batteries, a mounting system and a data cable.

Maybe someone has a non-working unit that has the items I need?

If anyone has any of these items, I would appreciate a PM.

My suggestion would be keep an eye on eBay, as well. Someone on this site found a schematic on the web for the 9-pin serial download cable and actually fabricated one (a major feat since the interface connector to the GPS 195 is so clunky). www.garmin.com [garmin.com] still sells some GPS 195 accessories, but they are steeply priced.

I have an old GPS 195 as well, and am still happy with it. I've been meaning to upgrade, but I keep finding other things to spend my money on. IMHO, it would hardly be worth spending a lot of money on accessories for an old GPS 195.

Might as well get a brand new GPS 196, which comes with everything. Sometimes I see GPS 195 on eBay, with everything (receiver, download cable, battery pack, etc.) for a couple of hundred bucks.

The data cable is easy and cheap to make. The schematic was found on the internet. The battery tray or pack might be a more difficult thing to find. It's not needed if powered via the cable above.

I think I've still got lots of 195 stuff...hopefully. I'll look around this afternoon.

I went through my Garmin chest and I don't really have any useful 195 stuff anymore... except an antenna adapter (lets you plug an external antenna with a BNC connector onto the side).

If you need the adapter let me know, it's free.

Don't worry about it Philip, it's near useless to me and I need to scale back smile

I'll get it out this week.
