Currently, complete 175s with low time engines and good avionics are going for that much. People seem to hate the GO gearbox and won't buy 175s because of them. I regret passing up on one such 175 lately. For some reason, I couldn't see myself buying a complete, flyable, dirt cheap airplane that met the performance goals I need but can't currently fulfill with my 150. Project aircraft, however, sucker me in every time.

Exactly! There's no reason to put a GO-300 in it, when there are STC's for O-300's, O-320's, and O-360's. I'll bet this one could be had for around $10K. No idea whether or not it is complete minus only the engine, and any avionics would likely be old (or missing). I posted it to illustrate the "Barn Finds" that are still out there.

See, if you'd told me that about four months ago I'd own a 175 and be looking for an engine to swap in. I tell ya, I'm a project magnet.

Considering the history...anyone buying it should expect to get it CHEAP!
