My site for N714JN is still running. Have a look.

Basically, I wanted the buyer to know all of the
things that I cared about when I was buying.

Now that's an informative website that any prospective buyer would appreciate!

First off-- there's Trade-A-Plane and then there's everyone else. If you want to sell, start with TAP.

Most ISPs will provide you with a personal web site.
Purchase an ad with TAP. Reference your own site.

The concept worked. The plane sold within days.
I was looking at your pics and noticed the one that had paint missing from the wing, it looks like the heads of the rivets were ground off. Am I seeing that correctly?

The rivets were fine. Re-read the "known issues" section.

My point was that rather than try to hide the problems, be up-front about them.

Do a bit of research and pick a fair selling price.

When the ad was originally published, I had a deposit
on my current 172. I didn't want two airplanes.
(One is more than enough!)

As it turned out, I bought the 172 in the early morning,
and sold the 150 before noon-- on the same day!

Yep. That's how it turned out.
The serious shoppers (and there were many) loved it.

The "tire kickers" were the funny ones.
At the time, the price was probably 5K less than what
I might have been able to get.

And yet I got calls, "How much would you take if I paid cash?"

My favorite was an email from Slovakia.
The fellow wanted me to crate it up and send it to him!

Steve, since the airplane is sold it is of no importance now, but the oil leak; is that the famous helicoil issue that Chuck Hanna addresses from time to time?

Well I am finally back from infrequent to none 'net connectivity hell.

I had all sorts of things I thought about responding with during my outage, but Steve has the very idea. My addition is just compling a PDF document of all the info so that it can be dissemenated by other means than the web site - e-mail, or burned to CD or paper and snail mailed.

Obviously, you have to have the data in the first place.
If you are an owner, tracking this stuff is "all you".

For example, if you have the 100 hour tail inspection AD
on your airplane; it's up to you to track it. A light doesn't light up. Nobody calls.

I started up a spreadsheet.
Some items are based on date (like the annual).
Some items are based on time (like the air filter).
Some items are based on both (like the oil).

If you know the data, you might as well publish it.
