Based on the first photo in the hangar, I believe I remember it belonging to a Club member...found it... Dennis_Ozment in Quincy, IL!
As far as the engine, it's not really that close to TBO, especially with a TOP 480 hrs. ago. At the rates most of us fly, around 100 hrs. a year, I could easily see getting another 4-5 years out of the engine before you'd even have to think about an overhaul but, that's just me. It sure looks like a nice one, though.
N9232U did belong to former Club member Dennis Ozment of Illinois. Until December 2008. It appears to have changed hands at least twice in the last 2 years. The current owner has only been the registered owner of record for a couple of months.
Compression in the 70s, no oil consumption, and chrome cylinders.... sounds like there's a lot of life left in that engine.
I started an annual last weekend on my airplane with around 1800 TSMOH. Lowest cylinder is 68/80, idle oil pressure is good (indicating the bottom end isn't worn yet), and it pulls strong. I think I'm still years from thinking about an engine overhaul. for this one. It may be one of those engines that runs to 2400 before needing major attention.

I listed my plane on BS a few months ago for 15,990. I would have taken 15,000 with a fresh annual. after speaking with a few potential buyers, and getting a few ridicules offers i decided not to sell. that one seems a bit high priced.
I called all your buyers and told them yours was a POS and that you'd take 5K for it..
I just wanted you to keep it...
Tim that is what I like about this club, everyone is always looking out for each other. I found that the more I told prospective buyers about the plane the less I could afford to sell it.
Looks like it's recently had a few modifications/upgrades to the panel, too. Like new yoke emblems, navcom, a couple of new switches and a vernier mixture control.
