I have just learned of an intriguing project for sale. It's a 150/150 that the owner has spent a tremendous amount of time and money on, but is still disassembled. (this is not the fastback taildragger project posted here a couple of posts ago)

The most appealing thing about the airplane I am describing is that the owner had the wings professionally rebuilt, and they have long range tanks. The wings are still in the crates as received from the rebuilder.

I know this is not going to be a steal, the owner knows the value of what he has, but the economy being what it is, it can probably be purchased for quite a bit less than it is worth.

Sorry for the lack of details in this post, I don't have the email in front of me, but we will be posting the ad in our classifieds later today for those who are interested.

Sorry for the delay, busy times here.

Here is the classified:
For sale:Wings with Long range tanks. Completely rebuilt by Williams Airmotive all Cessna parts painted with white jet glow. Absolutely perfect work epoxy primed before assembly new skins. Tank Covers might be new if not perfect. Never removed from crate they are located in SO CAL. I paid $16K best offer. Also a like new 150-150L project with STC and kit from Del-Air Plus plus lots of new parts like a new H model lower cowl wheel pants much more etc.

OK, here are the details. This airplane is owned by a former club member who was based in Southern Cal, and has been recently transfered to the Midwest.

Everything that follows is per the conversation I had with Robin this morning. He bought an 150L in fairly good shape, and had it completely stripped down, epoxy primed inside and out and painted jet glow white. Everything was looked at, and made like new, all of the plastic parts were replaced. The glass is all new as well.

He purchased a 150 HP STC from Del-Air, and had the wings rebuilt with long range tanks. Like the fuselage, the wings were stripped, primed and painted. They are still in the crates as shipped from Williams Airmotive. The wings do not have ailerons or flaps installed but do have new tracks and hinges.

He had a whole brand new King IFR radio stack built and wired, but not yet installed in the panel. He purchased a brand new Lycoming 0-320, it is mounted on the airplane, and the battery box has been installed in the tail cone.

Robin tells me he has spent nearly $100K on the project so far, and knows he will not be able to recover even a small portion of his investment. Because of his job transfer, he has decided not to finish the airplane, and sell it off as parts or a project instead.

Here's what you need to know as a potential buyer. The seller is negotiable about buying the entire project, but is well aware that you can buy a flying 150HP conversion for under $40K, so he thinks he will take less of a beating if he parts out the airplane. You could buy the entire project less the engine, avionics and instruments for about $20K, this includes the STC, and installed parts for the STC, engine mount etc.

If no one wants to buy the whole airplane, the wings can be purchased separately for around $10K (owner is well aware that these are the most desirable items to part out, he paid $16K for the wing rebuild.)

He also believes the airframe less the wings is worth an additional $10K, and says it is "Perfect". It certainly is worth $10K, but no doubt a tough sell without wings. (IMHO)

Ok, so that is what I know. Call Robin to discuss
